The goal of Open Source SIP is to encourage the creation of commercially viable SIP applications. To do this, we created server and client applications, OpenSBC and OSSPhone, that provide basic SIP functionality in a stable and scalable package (we know, because we use them in the real world everyday). While OpenSBC and OSSPhone are extremely useful and capable applications out-of-the-box, they have been designed to be easily extended and modified. We believe that future generations of telecom applications will be based on distributed processing and service oriented architecture (SOA). To facilitate this evolution, we are working hard to expose the core SIP functions through standard interfaces such as 3PCC, Diameter and Parlay. If you have ideas for an implementation along these lines, we would like to hear from you. Open Source SIP is maintained by Solegy LLC. All of the Open Source SIP applications are built on top of the open source OpenSIPStack authored by Solegy's CTO, Joegen Baclor.
