Accept-All-registration

I had hard time registering my remote soft phones. Then I found a thread mentioning Accept-All-Registration needs to be enabled to resolve the issue. I enabled it and my phone is registered and I'm able to make calls to and from Avaya PBX behind OpenSBC

Started with testing I figured out that after enabling Accept-All-Registrtation I can register softphone with any credentials even though there is no user in local domain account with these credentials configured and I was able to make calls.

Is it normal?

I believe this option is for when you want OpenSBC to accept everything by default. For example, when you're doing an upper registration to a proxy the proxy will handle all authentication.

Here is the thing you should be all aware off

If Accept-all-registration is enabled and Upper registration route-list wasn't configured or was configured and being removed the OpenSBC will accept registration with any credentials.

I have setup upper registration with Avaya registrar and its seems to be working. Another issue I ran with Upper reg configuration in order to get it working I had to change Main-Interface-Address to port 9000, restart Opensbc, change it back to port 5060 and restart service again

After making more tests I found that I'm still able to register soft phone if user name exists on my registrar with any password. It is not happening when soft phone being registered directly to the registrar

UPDATE:

I think I figured out what is a problem

On my registrar in order to receive calls I have to setup OpenSBC IP address as a trusted server so it will accept 'From domain'. Usually we implement it for IP trunking with no registration.

With OpenSBC Upper reg implementation UA registration being considered as a trusted host and will allow to register without authentication

There is not much I can do on my registrar side. Would it be possible to send in 'From' domain name (opensbc.xxxx.corp) instead of IP address (172.16.3.241) for the UA registrations?

B2BUA-Routes -> Rewrite-From-Domain

OpenSBC will replace the host portion of the From-URI with the value of this parameter. This should be in URI format. Example: sip:opensipstack.org
