Internal or External DNS

I have two vyatta/opensbc servers running.

Each one has my internal DNS for DNS entries.

It dawns on me that there could be a potential conflict.

My internal DNS servers resolve for all devices inside of my network but they also point only to private IPs.

My external DNS servers don't allow any resolving but only point to the public IPs off my services/devices which are to be made public.

When a user comes in from public, but opensbc talks with my pbx and other servers internally, could there be a problem in terms of the public side not seeing what it is supposed to be seeing?

Re: Internal or External DNS

No... because OpenSBC really only cares about resolving information about your sipXPBX which is on the Inside of OpenSBC. The remote phones are all hitting the SBC and it is talking to them via IP addresses.

Re: Internal or External DNS
Mike is correct. Internal/External DNS technique is something that's inherent from the sipXECS side of the world and their vast deployment definitely proves it works.
