Roaming users running into roadblocks...

I'm testing OpenSBC for a customer in Upper Reg mode with as sipXecs system behind it on NAT. There are two OpenSBC machines load balanced with SRV records on two separate Internet providers.

We seem to be running into a lot of problems connecting to the system from just anywhere remotely. It seems like people are either getting wiser with firewalls (doubt it) or the typical small firewall has some SIP ALG stuff or default rules that are getting in the way. If I've got a known good firewall then no problems are had. Sometimes no registrationr, sometimes one way audio, etc.

Are there settings in OpenSBC that can make it easier for x-Lite or other phones to connect and get around such problems?

I've got another issue i'll post separately.

Thanks,

Mike

Hi Mike,

Sorry for the late response. I'm curious about your DNS-SRV setup. Is the REGISTRATION and INVITE in sync? What i mean is, if a certain SBC gets the REGISTER request from the phone, are we sure that INVITES from the phone also get sent to the same SBC?
