opensbc alg

Someone on a mailing list was telling me that vyatta/opensbc is in fact ALG based. I have since been testing centos/opensbc with iptables. Can someone tell me if this is true, that opensbc amounts to an ALG firewall?

Re: opensbc alg
I don't think it would be appropriate to call a B2B UA as an ALG. ALGs are very generic beasts that merely rewrites contacts and vias to reflect the NAT binding. Advance ALGs might even support RTP proxying via SDP manipulation. However, unlike a B2BUA, ALGs normally do not preserve dialog states. If I were to code an ALG, i would see myself writing generic handlers for SIP messages that has one sole function of rewriting contacts and vias. That's a far cry from the complex behavior of an SBC.
